Walk to Cure Diabetes” next Sunday, November 2, 2008

You may or may not know that Rob was diagnosed with type 1 (juvenile) diabetes several years ago. Rob passed away unexpectedly on October 19, 2008 at the age of 27. To honor Rob and to help fight the battle of type 1 (juvenile) diabetes, I am participating in a “Walk to Cure Diabetes” next Sunday, November 2, 2008.

I truly believe that out of every difficulty comes something good. We must do everything in our power to help find a cure for kids who are suffering from this disease. There are many devastating diseases in our world right now, and that saddens me. The difference with juvenile diabetes is that wiping it out of existence is extremely attainable and within reach.

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is the #1 non-profit funder of diabetes research worldwide. One of JDRF’s largest fundraising events is the “Walk to Cure Diabetes.” Each year I plan to form a team named “Rob Panacci” to walk and raise money towards this cause. This year’s walk will be held next Sunday, November 2, 2008 at Heather Farms Park in Walnut Creek. It is my understanding that this is a short 2 mile walk.

If you are interested, there are two ways you can help me make a difference: You can join the team, known as “Rob Panacci,” collect pledges and walk with me. To do this please visit http://walk.jdrf.org;

Or you can Send your tax deductible donation by visiting http://walk.jdrf.org/support.cfm?id=87265998.

I know that this is extremely short notice as the walk is a mere week from tomorrow. And I realize & sympathize with all of you that are feeling the financial crunch. $5 or $10 would be greatly appreciated.

Anything is better than nothing & if ten of you donate $10 that’s $100! It all adds up & it all makes a difference. Thank you for your support and we would be honored to see you at the Walk on November 2nd!

Many thanks,

Jessica Lewis
