8-Year Veteran Started his Career as a Reserve

The Moraga-Orinda Fire District regretfully reports that Firefighter Robert F. Panacci, the son of Frank and Janet Panacci of Lafayette, died unexpectedly at home on Sunday evening. Rob is survived by his parents and five siblings.

Rob began his career with Moraga-Orinda as a Reserve Firefighter in 1999 and became a full-time Firefighter in 2005.

Rob was known for his professionalism and sense of humor.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to the Juvenile Diabetic Foundation.

Funeral arrangements are pending, with details to follow.

  1. Great job on this website. Rob touched a huge amount of lives in a very small amount of time. He did more than many who are allowed to enjoy a much longer lifetime. I’m proud to have known him.
